Description
Dallar Air Base is a military airfield located in Dallar, within the Shamkir District of Azerbaijan.
The Soviet 882nd Independent Tilzitskiy Reconnaissance Aviation Regiment, assigned to the 34th Air Army of the Transcaucasian Military District, was stationed at the base from 1955 to 1992. The regiment operated Yak-28PP aircraft prior to their transfer to the 151st OAPREB. The unit subsequently operated MiG-25RB reconnaissance aircraft from 1984 to 1992 and Su-24MR tactical reconnaissance aircraft from 1987 to 1992. Conventional Armed Forces in Europe treaty data exchange figures from November 1990 recorded the base hosting MiG-25RB and Su-24MR aircraft.
Following a directive issued on 29 July 1992, the regiment was disbanded.
