Description
King Abdulaziz Naval Base (KANB) is located in Jubail, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. Operated by the Royal Saudi Navy, the installation is the headquarters for the Eastern Fleet, one of the two main formations of the Saudi navy. The base also houses the King Fahd Naval Academy.
As an active military airfield (ICAO: OEJL), KANB supports elements of Saudi Naval Aviation, a branch organized directly under the Eastern Fleet since 1985. The base assumed its aviation role succeeding the nearby Jubail Airport, which operated as the base for the naval aviation group until its transfer to civil administration in 2014.
