Description
Riffa Air Base is a Royal Bahraini Air Force installation located 3.2 kilometres southeast of Riffa in the Southern Governorate of Bahrain. The facility operates as a helicopter base and hosts the Royal Bahraini Air Force Helicopter Wing.
The base houses multiple operational units:
- The 3rd Helicopter Squadron, operating the Bell AB212 and Bell 412EP.
- The 8th Helicopter Squadron and 9th Helicopter Squadron, operating the Bell AH-1FB Cobra.
- The 10th Helicopter Squadron, operating the Bell 505 Jet Ranger X.
- The 12th Helicopter Squadron, operating the Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawk.
