Description

Kotroni Naval Air Base, also known as Kotroni Airport (ICAO: LGKN), is an active military installation located west of Marathonas, Greece. The Hellenic Navy established the base in 1986 following the relocation of the Naval Helicopter Command headquarters from Amfiali, Skaramanga.

The facility is operated by Hellenic Naval Aviation and hosts the Hellenic Navy Helicopter Command. Rotary-wing aircraft stationed at the installation include MH-60R "Romeo" helicopters assigned to the Naval Air Force Command.

The infrastructure at Kotroni is configured for helicopter operations. The runways are marked with helipad signs on the surface to designate landing areas. Base facilities include four helipads located on the runway and 16 helicopter parking positions.
