Description
Lalmonirhat Airport (ICAO: VGLM) is a Bangladesh Air Force base located near Lalmonirhat in the Rangpur Division, along the northern border of Bangladesh. Established in 1931 as a military airbase, the facility was used by Allied Forces during the Second World War as a forward airbase for operations in Burma and Southeast Asia.
The base is owned by the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh and is under the possession of the Bangladesh Air Force, serving as one of its nine airbases. It is operated jointly by the Bangladesh Air Force and the Bangladesh Aerospace and Aviation University, which utilizes the facility as a permanent campus. No scheduled commercial airline flights operate from the facility.
