Porbandar Naval Air Enclave (Porbandar Airport)

Porbandar Naval Air Enclave is a dual-use military and civilian facility located at Porbandar Airport in Gujarat, India. Owned by the Airports Authority of India, it operates as a commercial airport while hosting elements of the Indian Naval Air Arm and the Indian Coast Guard. The Coast Guard Air Enclave (CGAE Porbandar) was commissioned on 12 June 2008. The Indian Navy established a presence with the commissioning of INAS 343 in January 2011, forming the first operational unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) squadron under the Western Naval Command. A second naval unit, INAS 314, was established at the enclave on 29 November 2019.

The enclave conducts maritime surveillance operations in the North Arabian Sea and handles training missions. The Indian Navy's INAS 343, nicknamed "Frontier Formidables," operates Drishti 10 Starliner UAVs, having transitioned from earlier operations with IAI Heron and Searcher Mk-II platforms. INAS 314 functions as an electronic warfare and maritime surveillance squadron operating Dornier 228 aircraft. The Indian Coast Guard's CGAE Porbandar provides logistical and administrative support for resident aviation units. Coast Guard units stationed at the base include CGAS 746, equipped with Dornier 228s, and CGAS 835 (also referenced as 850 Squadron), operating Dhruv Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH Mk III).

Military operations share the airfield infrastructure with civil aviation. The shared apron has the capacity to accommodate ATR 72 aircraft, operating alongside the civilian terminal building.
