A Ukrainian air-defence missile went out of control during a Russian strike wave and came down on a grain facility in the village of Przewodów, Lublin Voivodeship, eight kilometres inside Poland. Two Polish civilians were killed — the only deaths caused by an airspace violation logged on this page. Initial reporting attributed the missile to Russia and briefly raised the prospect of an Article 5 consultation; Polish and allied investigators subsequently established it was a stray Ukrainian interceptor.
An Italian Eurofighter on NATO Baltic Air Policing duty destroyed an unidentified drone over eastern Latvia before dawn on 14 August, the second time the alliance's quick-reaction force has shot one down over the country this year.
