PNS Qasim

PNS Qasim is a Pakistan Navy base on Manora Island, off the Karachi coast in Sindh, Pakistan. It functions as the logistics base of the Pakistan Marines, the maritime land warfare branch of the Pakistan Navy, and as the branch's initial training establishment. The base is named after the Arab commander Muhammad bin Qasim.

The Marines have been headquartered at the station since 25 November 1990, when the branch was permanently relocated there from PNS Himalaya, having been re-formed earlier that year at Fort Manora for coastal defence duties. The station hosts the Marines Training Centre (MTC), which delivers basic and advanced training to Pakistan Marines personnel. The centre was established in 1990 with instructors drawn from the Pakistan Army, which provided the first faculty; the Navy assumed responsibility for training operations in 2000, while Army instructors have continued to deliver advanced instruction. Since 1998 the Marines Training Centre has also housed the headquarters of the Naval Police and conducts basic and refresher courses for the Navy's military police units.
