Description
PNS Akram is a Pakistan Navy base at Gwadar, on the Makran coast of Balochistan, Pakistan, on the northern Arabian Sea. It functions as a forward operating base and as the military depot for naval personnel assigned to the Pakistan Navy's Western Command. The base also operates as a surveillance station, monitoring activity at Gwadar Port and in the northern Arabian Sea.
The installation was established in 1983 and commissioned as PNS Akram in 1987, the first Pakistan Navy base on the Makran coast. It is named after Admiral Afzal Rahman Khan.
