Damaged on the night of 12 August 2026 when Ukrainian forces struck the Novorossiysk naval base with Neptune anti-ship missiles, Palianytsia jet-powered strike drones and naval drones. Satellite imagery reviewed by the Exilenova+ and CyberBoroshno OSINT groups indicated an impact close to the eight-cell vertical launch system and structural damage to the aft superstructure. An assessment of Vantor imagery published on 13 August rated the damage moderate but concentrated on the forward vertical launch cell banks, with follow-on fire damage judged sufficient to disable the launchers and deprive the frigate of both its surface-to-surface and surface-to-air missile fire. It was the ship's third recorded hit of 2026, after strikes on 2 March and 6 April; Russia issued no statement.
