Soyang-class (AOE-II)
Commissioned by the Republic of Korea Navy in 2018, the Soyang-class fast combat support ship replenishes fuel, stores and ammunition at sea and operates an SH-60 helicopter.

Description
The Soyang-class (AOE-II) is a class of fast combat support ships built for the Republic of Korea Navy. Designed as the successor to the Cheonji-class, the vessels are constructed by Hyundai Heavy Industries and Hanwha Ocean. The lead ship of the class, ROKS Soyang, was laid down on 13 July 2015, launched on 29 November 2016, and commissioned on 18 September 2018. A contract for a second vessel of the class was announced on 26 July 2024, with its commissioning scheduled for December 2028.
The vessels utilize a combined diesel-electric or diesel propulsion system that integrates hybrid diesel and electric engines driving propulsion shafts. Design features include an embarked helicopter facility featuring a helipad and hangar, capable of supporting aircraft such as the SH-60 Seahawk. For self-defense, the ships are equipped with a close-in weapon system and decoy launchers.
The lead vessel, ROKS Soyang, remains in active service.
