Description
The Philippine Air Force retired its small fleet of AH-1S Cobra attack helicopters on the same occasion as the OV-10 Bronco. The Cobras had been acquired second-hand from Jordan and were used for armed reconnaissance and close air support in the southern Philippines. Their withdrawal leaves Philippine attack helicopter capability resting on the T129B ATAK acquired from Turkey and on armed AW109 light helicopters, while the air force continues to modernise around the FA-50PH and A-29B for fixed-wing strike.
