The US Navy retired its last EP-3E Aries II signals intelligence aircraft in February 2025, Seapower reported. Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron One (VQ-1) marked the event with an informal ceremony at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island on 12 February, and the aircraft was flown away the next day. The last operational EP-3E mission had been flown in the US 5th Fleet area in October 2024.
