Description
A Bell AH-1Z Viper attack helicopter operated by Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 369 crashed near Imperial Gables, California. One of the pilots was killed and the other was injured. The squadron, based at MCAS Camp Pendleton, trains extensively over the southern California desert ranges. The AH-1Z is the current Marine Corps attack helicopter, sharing a common airframe and drivetrain with the UH-1Y Venom, and is being sustained as the Corps reshapes its aviation force structure.
