BAN Lanvéoc-Poulmic

BAN Lanvéoc-Poulmic is a French Naval Aviation base located at Poulmic in Lanvéoc, Finistère, France. Established in 1920 as a seaplane base, it was originally one of 37 maritime aviation centers created in France for coastal surveillance and protection. The facility was designated the Centre d'aéronautique maritime in 1935 and officially renamed Base d'aéronautique navale de Lanvéoc-Poulmic on April 6, 1937.

During World War II, the base was occupied by German forces. The site was bombed 18 times by the Royal Air Force during the war before being captured by Allied forces on September 17, 1944. In 1945, following the wartime destruction of the naval academy at Saint-Pierre-Quilbignon, the École navale relocated to temporary barracks at the Lanvéoc seaplane base. Permanent facilities for the academy were constructed on the site and inaugurated in 1965.

Operated by the French Navy, the base hosts several aviation and training units. Stationed flight squadrons include Flottille 32F, Flottille 33F, Flottille 34F/ESHE, and Escadrille 50S. The installation also houses the Centre d'entraînement et d'instruction de Lanvéoc-Poulmic (CEI) and the Centre d'entraînement à la survie et au sauvetage de l'aéronautique navale (CESSAN), an aeronautical rescue and survival training center. The base concurrently operates as the permanent campus of the École navale.
