Description

Biddle Air National Guard Base is located in Horsham Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The facility was established in 1928 by the Pitcairn Aircraft Company as Pitcairn Field No. 2. The site formerly operated as Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Willow Grove before the Pennsylvania Air National Guard assumed control in 2011. Known as Horsham Air Guard Station from 2011 to 2021, the base was renamed in honor of Charles Biddle, founder of the 103rd Observation Squadron.

The installation is owned by the Department of Defense and operated by the United States Air Force under the jurisdiction of the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. The 111th Attack Wing serves as the host unit. The base operates as a joint-use facility supporting Air National Guard units, Army National Guard units, and various federal government agencies.

Stationed units include the 103rd Attack Squadron, Detachment 1 of the 201st RED HORSE Squadron, and the 270th Engineering Installation Squadron. Army occupants include the 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, the 316th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), the 412th Engineer Command, and the 338th Medical Brigade. The base also hosts the 3rd Medical Command, 11th Aviation Command, and the 200th Military Police Command.
