Atlantic City Air National Guard Base

Atlantic City Air National Guard Base is located at Atlantic City International Airport in New Jersey. The facility was established in 1958 and is operated by the United States Air Force under the control of the New Jersey Air National Guard.

The base hosts the 177th Fighter Wing, an Air Combat Command-gained unit. The wing operates F-16C/D Fighting Falcon aircraft and maintains dual federal and state missions, providing support to the State of New Jersey and augmentation for the United States Air Force. Since October 1998, the unit has participated in Operation Noble Eagle, Operation Southern Watch, Operation Northern Watch, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Operational roles include homeland security air defense missions under the control of the Eastern Air Defense Sector and the North American Aerospace Defense Command. The unit performs air sovereignty, air defense, and airborne counter-drug operations. The base shares its airfield and infrastructure with Atlantic City International Airport.
