Description

Celle Air Base, also known as Heeresflugplatz Celle, is an active military installation located in Germany. Established in 1934, the facility is operated by the German Army Aviation Corps. Historically, the base housed Heeresfliegerregiment 16 until the unit was disbanded in 2002.

The installation currently hosts the Ausbildungs- und Übungszentrum Luftbeweglichkeit (Training and Exercise Centre for Air Mobility). This unit conducts airmobile infantry training, helicopter pilot training and simulation, and non-commissioned officer basic training. The facility does not currently house a fixed flying squadron or permanently assigned aircraft.
