Fritzlar Air Base, also known as Heeresflugplatz Fritzlar, is an active military installation located in Germany. Established in 1939, the facility is operated by the German Army Aviation Corps.
The base hosts Kampfhubschrauberregiment 36 "Kurhessen", a unit comprising approximately 1,200 posts. The installation operates Tiger combat helicopters. Following the complete replacement of the former Bo 105 PAH-1 and VBH fleets, the Tiger is the only combat helicopter type stationed at the facility.
