The base hosts Kampfhubschrauberregiment 36 "Kurhessen", a unit comprising approximately 1,200 posts. The installation operates Tiger combat helicopters. Following the complete replacement of the former Bo 105 PAH-1 and VBH fleets, the Tiger is the only combat helicopter type stationed at the facility.
