Coast Guard Air Station Daman (Daman Airport)

Coast Guard Air Station Daman, also known as Daman Airport or NAMO Airport, is a joint military and civil airbase located in Daman, within the Indian union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. The airfield was constructed in the 1950s by the Government of Portuguese India. Portuguese India Airlines (TAIP) operated civilian flights linking Daman with Goa, Diu, and Karachi from August 1955 until December 1961, when the Indian Armed Forces took control of Daman and TAIP operations ceased. The Indian Coast Guard deployed its first Dornier squadron to the airfield in January 1987 and commissioned a full Air Station in October 1987. A civil terminal building was inaugurated on 5 June 2026.

The facility is operated by the Indian Coast Guard, which provides air traffic control and parking for both defense and civilian aircraft. The air station executes maritime reconnaissance and search and rescue (SAR) missions along the north-west coast of India, detaching aircraft for localized operational commitments.

The station maintains administrative and operational control over two units: 750 Squadron (ICG) operating Dornier 228 aircraft, and 841 Squadron (ICG) operating Chetak helicopters. The base also hosts the Coast Guard's Dornier Training Fleet.

Infrastructure includes two intersecting asphalt runways. The airfield is equipped with several navigational and approach aids, including an Airport Surveillance Radar (ASR), a Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI), a Doppler Very High Frequency Omnidirectional Radio Range (DVOR) paired with Distance Measuring Equipment (DME), and a Non-Directional Beacon (NDB).
