Description
Salina Cruz Naval Air Base (Spanish: Estación Aeronaval de Salina Cruz) is a military installation located in Salina Cruz, Oaxaca, Mexico. Formerly known as Salina Cruz Airport, the facility previously supported general aviation, military flights, and commercial passenger service to Mexico City, primarily operated by Aeromar.
The base is operated by Mexican Naval Aviation under the Mexican Navy. The installation is active and utilized exclusively for military helicopter operations. Civil aviation for the region is directed to Ixtepec Airport, the nearest facility providing commercial flights.
Infrastructure at the site includes an apron and a small former passenger terminal. The fixed-wing runway is no longer operational. The facility retains its assigned IATA code SCX and ICAO code MMSZ, although these are retired from civil and commercial use.
