Description
Campeche Naval Air Base is situated at the northern end of the Ing. Alberto Acuña Ongay International Airport in Campeche, Campeche, Mexico. The installation operates under joint military and civil usage. The broader airport facility has been managed since 2023 by Grupo Olmeca-Maya-Mexica (GAFSACOMM), a holding company owned by the Mexican military.
The base is operated by Mexican Naval Aviation. It hosts the 5th Air Mobility, Observation and Transport Naval Air Squadron, which operates the Mi-8 (Hip). The installation also houses the 1st Interception and Reconnaissance Naval Air Squadron, equipped with L-90TP (L-90 Redigo) and Sabre 60 aircraft.
