Description
Sintra Air Base is a Portuguese Air Force base in the Sintra Municipality of Portugal. Its origins go back to the transfer of the School of Military Aeronautics to Granja do Marquês in 1920, and the installation became Air Base No. 1 in 1939. Today it serves as the main flight training base of the Portuguese Air Force and is home to the Portuguese Air Force Academy.
