Description
Beja Air Base, officially Air Base No. 11, is a Portuguese military airfield near Beja in Alentejo. Established in 1964 after construction began in 1962, it was originally developed as a training facility for the German Air Force and later became one of Portugal's key air bases. It now supports training, helicopter, maritime patrol, and tactical air transport operations and also accommodates dual civil use.
