Gadzhiyevo Naval Base (Yagelnaya Guba)

Gadzhiyevo is a Russian Navy installation on the Kola Peninsula, in Murmansk Oblast, north-western Russia. It lies at Yagelnaya Guba (Yagelnaya Bay), an inlet off the Barents Sea coast from which the settlement took its original name.

Access to the base and its supporting town is controlled: Gadzhiyevo falls under the closed administrative-territorial formation of Alexandrovsk, an administrative unit ranking with a district, and within municipal divisions forms part of Alexandrovsk Urban Okrug. The town, whose population was recorded at 11,068 in the 2010 census, houses the base's personnel and their families.

The site is first recorded in 1957 as Yagelnaya Guba. It was renamed Gadzhiyevo in 1967 after Magomet Gadzhiyev, a submarine commanding officer of the Second World War, and was designated Skalisty from 1981 to 1994, though it was commonly identified by the postal designation Murmansk-130. Town status was granted in 1981, the name Skalisty was confirmed in 1994, and in 1999 the name Gadzhiyevo was restored.
