Description

King Abdulaziz Naval Base is a Royal Saudi Navy installation at Jubail, in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, on the Persian Gulf coast.

The base is the headquarters of the Eastern Fleet, one of the Royal Saudi Navy's two principal formations, the other being the Western Fleet on the Red Sea. The Eastern Fleet is responsible for Saudi naval operations in the Persian Gulf.

The installation includes an airfield, with a single asphalt runway designated 15/33. The King Fahd Naval Academy, the Royal Saudi Navy's officer training establishment, is co-located on the base.
