Description
Luninets is a reserve air base of the Air Force and Air Defence Forces of the Republic of Belarus located in the Brest Region. During the Cold War, the airfield functioned as a fighter-bomber training area and hosted the 1169th Aviation Equipment Reserve Base (1169th BRAT). Historical aircraft operations at the site included Mil Mi-8 and Mil Mi-24 helicopters.
The base has supported the deployment of the 18th Guards Assault Aviation Regiment and the 266th Assault Aviation Regiment. These units operated Sukhoi Su-25 aircraft from the facility. Additionally, the base has hosted detachments of Shahed-136 drones.
