Description

Beni Suef Air Base is an Egyptian Air Force installation located in the Beni Suef Governorate. Established in 1985 by the Egyptian Ministry of Defense, the base has remained in operational use since its construction.

The facility hosts units from multiple air divisions, supporting fighter, training, rotary-wing, and airborne early warning missions. The 149 Air Division maintains a presence through the 242 Tactical Fighter Wing and the 770 Tactical Fighting Wing. No. 70 Squadron operates General Dynamics F-16C/D Fighting Falcons, and No. 94 Squadron operates Hongdu K-8E aircraft.

Rotary-wing operations are conducted by No. 55 Squadron of the 547 Air Wing, part of the 119 Air Division, which operates Mil Mi-17V-5 helicopters. The base also hosts a detachment from No. 87 Squadron of the 601 Air Wing, 159 Air Division, which operates Grumman E-2C Hawkeye aircraft.
