Description

King Abdullah II Air Base is a Royal Jordanian Air Force facility located near Zarqa, Zarqa Governorate, Jordan. King Abdullah II opened the installation on 26 November 1999.

The base hosts multiple Royal Jordanian Air Force operational groups. The Sahel Nassab Group comprises No. 10 Squadron and No. 12 Squadron, both operating Bell AH-1F Cobra attack helicopters.

Intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions are conducted by the Prince Al-Hussein Bin Abdullah II ISR Wing. This wing consists of No. 9 Squadron operating Schiebel Camcopter S-100 unmanned aerial vehicles, No. 15 Squadron operating Cessna 208 B-ISR and Cessna 208B EX Caravan aircraft, and No. 25 Squadron operating Air Tractor AT-802 aircraft.

The Prince Hashim Bin Abdullah II Royal Aviation Brigade is also stationed at the facility. Its assigned units include No. 8 Squadron with Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawks, No. 30 Squadron with Sikorsky UH-60L Black Hawks, No. 28 Squadron with McDonnell Douglas MD 530FF Defender helicopters, and No. 32 Squadron with CASA/IPTN AC-235 aircraft.
