Description

Lingshui Air Base is an active military installation in China operated by the People's Liberation Army Navy Air Force (PLANAF). Lingshui and Yongzhou Lingling Airport are the two seats of the PLANAF 3rd Naval Aviation Division. Following the 2023 PLANAF reorganization, which transferred the majority of land-based fighter and bomber units to the PLA Air Force, the 3rd Naval Aviation Division was retained to operate special-mission aircraft. Prior to this restructuring, organizational data from 2011 indicated the facility housed the 22nd Regiment of the 8th Division.

Aviation assets based at the installation include KJ-500 and KQ-200 aircraft. The base also provides onshore facilities for the fleet's carrier air wing, hosting J-15 Flying Shark fighters when their parent aircraft carrier is in port.
