Description
Sunchon Airport is a military airfield in Pyongan-namdo, North Korea, located 45 kilometers northwest of Pyongyang. The base hosts the 55th Fighter Regiment and a ground attack regiment. The 55th Fighter Regiment operates Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29s, while the ground attack regiment operates Sukhoi Su-7 and Sukhoi Su-25 aircraft. Infrastructure consists of a concrete runway with a full-length parallel taxiway and aprons at each end. A taxiway leads from the airfield to suspected underground storage facilities.
