Description
Abu al-Duhur Air Base is a Syrian military installation located five kilometers east of Abu al-Duhur in Idlib Governorate.
During the Syrian Civil War, rebel forces gained control of territory surrounding the facility beginning in 2012, subjecting the base to a siege that lasted nearly three years. In September 2015, al-Nusra Front forces captured the facility following an attack that killed 56 government soldiers. Equipment documented at the base at that time included rocket launchers and out-of-service fighter jets parked along the aprons.
Syrian government forces and allied units recaptured the facility in January 2018. Over the course of the conflict, the installation was completely destroyed and rendered non-operational. On 30 November 2024, rebel groups led by Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham recaptured the air base along with Shaheed Suad Al-Kayari Airport.
