Description

Donskoye Air Base, also known as Bryusterort or Donskoe, is an active military installation in Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia. Located one kilometer east of Donskoye, it is situated near Russia's westernmost point.

Established in 1945, the facility was utilized by several units following World War II. The 72nd Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment operated from the base in 1945, while the 28th and 68th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiments were stationed there between 1945 and 1947. In 1958, the 745th Independent Anti-submarine Helicopter Regiment (745 OPLVP) deployed to the installation. By the early 1990s, stationed units included the 745 OPLVP, operating Mil Mi-14 (Haze) and Kamov Ka-25 (Hormone) helicopters, alongside the 396th Independent Shipborne Anti-submarine Helicopter Regiment (396 OKPLVP), which flew Kamov Ka-27 (Helix) helicopters.

Operated by Russian Naval Aviation as a Baltic Fleet facility, the base currently hosts the 72nd Guards Aviation Base. The airfield infrastructure includes 25 aircraft pads, which accommodate helicopters.
