Description

RMAF Gong Kedak (ICAO: WMGK) is a Royal Malaysian Air Force installation located in Gong Kedak, Pasir Puteh District, Kelantan, Malaysia. Owned by the Ministry of Defence and operated by the Royal Malaysian Air Force, the site existed prior to World War II. In the early 1960s, the Royal Air Force utilized the airfield for training purposes. From the 1970s through 1989, the Malaysian Armed Forces used the location as a training grounds, specifically for parachute training. The Malaysian government initiated the land acquisition process to develop the military airbase in 1981.

Under the 1st Division of the Royal Malaysian Air Force, the base hosts No. 12 Squadron, which operates Sukhoi Su-30MKM fighters. The base is designated as "The Home of the Flankers." Facility infrastructure includes the Aerospace Technology Systems Corporation (ATSC) Sukhoi Technical Centre, an authorized facility located on-site to provide maintenance for the Sukhoi Su-30MKM fleet.
