RMAF Jugra

Jugra Air Base, officially Pangkalan Udara Jugra, is a Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) installation located in Jugra, Malaysia, 20 km from Klang and 5 km from the Strait of Malacca. The installation serves as the headquarters for the RMAF Regiment, RMAF Special Forces, and RMAF Ground Defence Force.

In 1940, the Royal Navy acquired land near the site for a planned Royal Naval Air Service airfield designated RNAS Morib, though construction did not commence due to the Japanese invasion of Malaya in 1941. Air Force Command established a radar facility at Bukit Jugra in 1971, designated TUDM Bukit Jugra. Equipped with a Marconi S600 radar, the site officially opened on 21 December 1972 as Malaysia's second air defence centre.

On 27 August 1987, Air Force Command relocated the facility 3 km from the radar site to establish Jugra Air Base as a heliport for search and rescue operations in the Strait of Malacca. Security was initially assigned to the 201st HANDAU Squadron. The original radar site closed in 1993, transferring its air defence responsibilities to Butterworth Air Base and its radar equipment to Kota Samarahan Air Force Base.

On 17 March 1999, the RMAF Regiment and its subordinate units relocated to Jugra Air Base from Kuala Lumpur Air Base. The installation subsequently operated as a garrison and selection center for special forces. Special forces selection transferred to the RMAF Combat Training School at Bukit Ibam Air Force Base on 1 March 2018, though advanced parachute and free-fall instruction remained at Jugra under the Parachute Training Flight. Following the phase-out of the Sikorsky S-61A-4 Nuri fleet, the installation ceased operating as an active heliport in 2016.

Current tenant units at Jugra Air Base include the RMAF Regiment Headquarters, RMAF Special Forces Headquarters (containing the Maritime Para Rescue Squadron and the Force Protection Squadron's Hostage Rescue Team), RMAF Ground Defence Force Headquarters (containing the 217th HANDAU Squadron), and the Parachute Training Flight. Operational facilities include a 20-meter concrete helipad.
