Description
The 60th Helicopter Air Base is located in Tecuci, Galați County. The Romanian Air Force traces the origins of its Aviation Training Center to Tecuci, where personnel training was conducted from the interwar period into the early jet era. In the 1950s, the local aviation school received the name Școala Militară de Aviație "Aurel Vlaicu" and was later relocated to Boboc in 1958. As of September 2024, the remaining infrastructure at the site was demolished.
