Description
Lutsk Air Base is a Ukrainian Air Force installation located near Lutsk in the Volyn Oblast. From 1945 until 1992, the facility hosted the 806th Fighter-Bomber Aviation Regiment, which operated Sukhoi Su-17 aircraft. During this period, the regiment served under the 289th Division within the 57th Air Army, the 14th Air Army, and the Air Forces of the Carpathian Military District. Military use of the airfield was abandoned in 2006.
Reopening procedures for the base began in 2014. In 2018, the facility became the station for the 204th Tactical Aviation Brigade, which relocated from Belbek Airport following the 2014 annexation of Crimea. The base was the target of airstrikes on February 27 and March 11, 2022, resulting in the destruction of four stored Sukhoi Su-24 aircraft.
The 204th Tactical Aviation Brigade operates Mikoyan MiG-29M/UB and Aero L-39C Albatross aircraft from the site. The facility also serves as a storage location for Sukhoi Su-24 bombers. In 2025, Dassault Mirage 2000-5F aircraft were observed operating from the base.
