Description
The 71st Air Base "General Emanoil Ionescu" is located at Câmpia Turzii, Cluj County. The installation is one of the principal operational bases of the Romanian Air Force and hosts fighter and helicopter squadrons. The base operates F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft acquired from Portugal and the Netherlands as part of Romania's fleet modernization program. The 71st Air Base also manages annexes at other locations, including a helicopter squadron at Timișoara-Giarmata.
